HR & Payroll Coordinator - Toronto

WeirFoulds LLP is currently seeking an HR & Payroll Coordinator to join our Administrative team. The ideal candidate is confidential, extremely detail-oriented, very organized, client-service focused and highly collaborative with strong interpersonal skills.

Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the HR & Payroll Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Full cycle processing of a Canadian payroll, including but not limited to monthly, biweekly, bonus and specially scheduled payrolls.
  • Processing of all payroll transactions including but not limited to new hires, changes, terminations, severances, taxable benefit calculations, accruals, disability payments, overtime and authorized deductions.
  • Calculation, reconciliation and remittance of all payroll related source deductions, retirement contributions and benefit related billings, including year-end remittances.
  • Preparation of all month end and year end payroll and benefit related accounting entries and accruals, including General Ledger account reconciliations and fulfillment of auditor requests.
  • Ensure data integrity of all related payroll and benefit information in electronic formats in all payroll and carrier databases and in written format in employee personnel files.
  • Administration of all payroll related paperwork and activities, including but not limited to
  • Verifications of Employment, government reporting and creating correspondence.
  • General administration of all Firm benefits, including responding to benefit and RRSP queries for all levels of the Firm.
  • Tracks planned and unplanned absences through employee self-service module within ADP
  • Workforce Now, preparing reports weekly for Supervisor, Resources.
  • Assisting the Human Resources Advisor with the annual performance review process.
  • Assisting the Director, Human Resources with staff monthly meeting coordination and agenda preparation.
  • Processing of invoices and expenses.


  • University education and a CHRP designation preferred.
  • 3+ years of payroll and human resources experience.
  • Experience working in a professional services or private sector environment preferred.
  • Proficient user of ADP Workforce Now an asset.
  • Advanced user of MS Excel, Word & Outlook with ability to adapt to new applications.
  • Strong math and payroll/benefit accounting skills.
  • Strong compliance bias and knowledge of employment standards within Canada.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, priorities and deadlines and easily adapt to changing situations in a fast-paced team environment.
  • High level of accuracy with a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent Client Service orientation.
  • Strong interpersonal, relationship and collaboration skills
