Marie-Andrée has recently been involved in the following cases:

Acts for the representative plaintiff in Trillium Motor World Ltd. v. General Motors of Canada Limited and Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP, a certified class action in which former General Motors dealers sue the defendants for, among others, breaches of the Arthur Wishart Act (Franchise Disclosure) and solicitor's negligence.

Acted for Stelco Inc. in Georgian Windpower Corporation v. Stelco Inc., a case in which the Plaintiffs were seeking damages in the amount of $350 million against Stelco for, among others, breach of contract.

Acts for one of the former senior officers of Nortel Networks Corporation and Nortel Networks Limited in various litigation resulting from the restatements of Nortel's financial statements.

Acted for the Law Society of Upper Canada in Law Society of Upper Canada v. Minister of Immigration and Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants, a case in which the Law Society was seeking a declaration that the Regulation authorizing the Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants to regulate immigration consultants was unconstitutional and ultra vires.

Acted for the Commissioner of Competition at first instance in Commissioner of Competition v. Labatt Brewing Co. Ltd., a case in which the Commissioner of Competition sought to delay the acquisition of Lakeport by Labatt (ranked in the Top Ten Business Cases of 2007 in Canada by Lexpert).

Acted as Ontario counsel for WestJet Airlines Ltd. in Air Canada v. WestJet Airlines Ltd., notably in the first reported case dealing with the Ontario Guidelines on electronic discovery (ranked as #1 in the Top Ten Business Cases of 2006 in Canada by Lexpert).

Acted for the parents of autistic children in N.(R.) (Litigation Guardian of) v. Ontario (Minister of Community, Family and Children's Services), an administrative law case in which the parents successfully challenged funding decisions made by the Minister.

Acted for the Complainant in Iness v. Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, a case involving constitutional issues such as the division of powers, paramountcy and inter-jurisdictional immunity.
