Sylvia acts for a wide variety of clients in a variety of real estate matters. Her practice encompasses all types of real estate transactions, including the purchase, sale and financing of retail, commercial and industrial properties. Sylvia also provides advice on land development and acts for clients involved in the acquisition, investment, development and management of real property. She assists her clients with all aspects of their real estate development projects and has negotiated and drafted all related agreements, including agreements of purchase and sale, encroachment agreements, joint venture agreements, site plan agreements, cost sharing agreements, easement agreements, reciprocal easement and operating agreements and restrictive covenant agreements, in connection with the acquisition and development of properties throughout Ontario.  

Sylvia's practice has a particular emphasis on commercial and retail facilities and shopping centre development. She acts for major retail clients with respect to their acquisition, development and expansion of all types of retail facilities, including big box stores, leased space, urban infill, standalone units and shopping centres. She also completed a one-year secondment with the legal department of a big box retailer.

$92.5M sale of a land lease for a significant heritage property in Ottawa, Ontario

$72.5M asset sale of a 114 acre retirement village

$37.75M purchase of a large retail development site in receivership

$180M cross-border syndicated loan financing of a portfolio of Canadian industrial properties with Bank of America.

$80M cross-border financing of a portfolio of Canadian industrial properties with MassMutual Life Insurance Company.
