WeirFoulds Partner Frank E. Walwyn Receives Black Law Students Association Award

WeirFoulds LLP is pleased to announce that Frank E. Walwyn is the recipient of the Legal Excellence Award from the Black Law Students’ Association of Osgoode Hall Law School for his achievements and contributions as a legal practitioner. The award will be presented at the Association’s “Raising the Bar Gala” on March 13, 2010.

The Black Law Students’ Association is a student-run organization at Osgoode Hall Law School whose aim is to promote diversity within the legal profession by increasing access to legal education for individuals who self-identify as Black or African Canadian, or have demonstrated an interest in issues affecting the African Canadian/Black community.

This year’s Gala, organized by the Association, is the first annual event of its kind. In addition to honouring the achievements and contributions of a select group of African Canadian legal practitioners, proceeds raised during the event will be directed to a formal bursary program for African Canadian students who are interested in taking preparatory courses for writing the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT).

We congratulate Frank on this honour and for his continuing contribution to excellence within the legal community.
