CCRE Annual Energy Leaders Roundtable
WeirFoulds Partner Robert Warren will moderate a panel, and be a panelist for another, for the 2018 Council for Clean & Reliable Energy (CCRE) Annual Energy Leaders Roundtable.
Robert will moderate the topic “Ontario’s Energy Future: Policy and Expectations”. Continues on from the discussions of the 2017 Roundtable. It will update the debate regarding Ontario’s climate change strategy in light of the 2017 LTEP and discuss the implications for Ontario’s electricity supply choices, the energy sector and the economy as a whole.
Robert will be a panelist for the topic “Governance of Regulatory Agencies”. This panel will discuss the principles for the governance of regulatory agencies and the mechanisms, internal and external, by which those principles might be applied. Among other things, the panel will consider whether the need for regulators to adopt new roles, driven in turn by the need to respond to technological changes and government policies, will require changes in those governance principles and the way they are applied.
