The Authoritative view of the Construction Lien Amendment Act, Bill 142

The construction industry has changed substantially since 1983, but no substantial amendments have been made to the Construction Lien Act since that time. In response to a request from the Government of Ontario, Bruce Reynolds and Sharon Vogel provided a report in April 2016, entitled “Striking the Balance: Expert Review of Ontario’s Construction Lien Act” and their numerous recommendations have led to Bill 142, An Act to Amend the Construction Lien Act.
