Virtually Together Conference – OECS Bar Association
WeirFoulds Partner Frank Walwyn and Senior Associate Kayla Theeuwen will be speaking at the 2nd Virtually Together Conference on Friday, September 17th.
The OECS Bar Association and Judicial Education Institute are co-hosting the second virtual Law Conference, under the theme “Redefine. Reshape. Restructure” which looks at several areas of change in today’s legal landscape. The Conference is designed to bring together members from various bar associations throughout the Caribbean and beyond for a day of continuing legal education for members of the legal profession, judiciary, and the public.
Frank and Kayla’s session is titled “How Do I Get That Tweet Admitted: Litigating in the Age of Social Media”. Social media has created a fundamental shift in how people interact. The pervasive use of social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and many others has implications for litigation from disclosure to presenting evidence at trial. This session seeks to set out some of the considerations for finding and using such potentially powerful reservoir of evidence in litigation.
