Alexandra practises litigation with an emphasis on the healthcare sector, particularly in the areas of professional regulation and liability, and intellectual property, notably pharmaceutical patents and trade-marks. In the areas of professional regulation and liability, Alexandra has served as counsel to and as a prosecutor for a number of the professional regulatory Colleges in Ontario. In addition, she has defended physicians on behalf of the Canadian Medical Protective Association in both medical malpractice litigation and regulatory proceedings. In the pharmaceutical industry, Alexandra has represented both brand and generic pharmaceutical companies.

Alexandra’s experience includes work on cases heard before hospital boards, professional regulatory Colleges, the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Court of Appeal for Ontario, the Federal Court, the Federal Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada.

In addition to her years in private practice, Alexandra has worked in-house for one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies, as well as in government for the Office of the Premier of Ontario. As such, Alexandra brings a unique perspective to the practice of law. She is able to approach matters from the perspective of her clients and regularly provides innovative, strategic, and sophisticated advice and representation. Alexandra’s in-depth experience allows her to tailor her client-focused practice to meet the specific needs of her clients and their management teams.
