John Risk is chair of the firm's Professional Self-Regulatory Bodies Practice Group. He practises in the areas of professional regulation, and corporate and commercial law for not-for-profit organizations.
John has over two decades of experience finding practical solutions to legal and regulatory issues for not-for-profit organizations and institutions in the health care and broader public sectors. He has a well-rounded and versatile skillset, having worked in private practice, in-house as a General Counsel, and in senior positions in government. His expertise includes corporate governance and by-laws, quality assurance matters, health facility regulation, enterprise risk management, operational policy and procedures, privacy, and commercial service agreements.
John has considerable experience providing opinions on statutory interpretation and preparing legislative submissions to government, including the drafting of proposed regulations.
John is repeatedly recognized as a leading practitioner in Health Care Law in Best Lawyers in Canada.
