Vickie Wong is a Partner and Chair of the Financial Services Group at WeirFoulds LLP.
Vickie has extensive experience in acting for both lenders and borrowers in a variety of debt financing arrangements including asset-based loans, bilateral and syndicated financings, franchise financing, first and second lien loans, and project and acquisition financings. Vickie has also assisted clients with insolvency and debt restructuring matters. Vickie’s experience spans a variety of industry sectors including agriculture, manufacturing, health care, food & hospitality, and retail businesses.
With financial market conditions continually changing and evolving, Vickie works closely with her clients to ensure they are kept up-to-date and understand the legal and business implications of industry developments.
Vickie has been repeatedly recognized as a leading practitioner in the area of Banking and Financial Institutions by the Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory and in Legal 500 Canada as a key practitioner and “proactive problem solver”. Vickie is also the recent recipient of 2020 Lawyer Monthly Magazine, Women in Law Award.
Vickie is actively engaged in the legal profession and matters that benefit the larger community. She has spoken at industry conferences as well as client training seminars on various lending, personal property and practise-related topics.
Vickie is also a member of Bay Street Fore a Cause, a not for profit corporation comprised of “Bay Street” professionals with a desire to give back to their community by raising funds for child and youth-related charitable causes in the Greater Toronto Area.

Counsel to a syndicate of lenders in respect of a $60 million secured financing, relating to a sponsor funded acquisition of a commercial refrigeration and insulated door and panel business
Canadian counsel to a U.S. private equity fund in connection with asset-based financing obtained in connection with its purchase of certain agricultural related businesses and operations
Canadian counsel to the Administrative Agent for a global syndicate of lenders in respect of a US$1.6 billion secured financing in relation to the acquisition of a North American consumer products manufacturer
Canadian Counsel to the Administrative Agent for a syndicate of lenders in respect of a US$265 million secured financing to a medical products manufacturer
Counsel to the Administrative Agent for a syndicate of lenders in connection with $780 million credit facilities to a borrower in the agricultural sector
Counsel to the Administrative Agent for a syndicate of lenders in connection with $100 million asset-based credit facilities to a well known North American furniture retailer
Counsel to the lender in connection with $16,500,000 credit facility to a borrower in the food industry
Counsel to the lender in connection with $40,800.000 credit facilities to a borrower in the healthcare services area.
