Wendes provides practical solutions and actionable advice to clients ranging from technology companies to not-for-profit organizations and institutions on a variety of corporate/commercial, technology, and privacy matters. Her practice includes advising on complex services engagements, privacy and security issues, corporate governance, risk management, strategic partnerships, and software licensing. Her experience assisting clients span a broad array of industries, including telecommunications, media, cloud computing, software development, healthcare and telemedicine, sports, and universities.
Wendes obtained her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Toronto, where she graduated with an Honours Distinction standing. She graduated as the Gold Medalist from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in English Language and Literature. During law school, Wendes finished as a finalist in the University of Toronto Callaghan Memorial Moot and went on to organize the moot in her third year of law school and coach the winning team. Following her first year of law school, Wendes worked as a legal research summer student at the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, where she had the opportunity to work closely with clerks and judges.
Wendes is passionate about keeping up with new and emerging technologies, digital transformation, and applying innovative and creative solutions to meet client objectives. In her spare time, Wendes enjoys creative writing, exploring Toronto’s vibrant food scene, and watching Broadway musicals.
