Partner Lucy Main will participate in "Probate Planning - Is It Still Worth the Hype?", a seminar that will be hosted by the Toronto Branch of STEP Canada on Wednesday, October 11th.

The seminar will focus on the impact that new tax rules, and changes to institutional compliance rules, will have on strategies to reduce the impact of Estate Administration Tax. Panelists will discuss existing techniques, the impact of new bare trust reporting rules and the underused housing tax fit on probate plans, beneficiary designations in wills versus outside of wills, and alter-ego trusts and joint partner trusts.
