  • At least 3-7 years of corporate/M&A experience
  • Strong technical and legal knowledge
  • Demonstrated strengths in entrepreneurialism including client service, client relationships and client development
  • Ability to work with lawyers at all levels, excellent interpersonal skills and be a team player
  • Able to balance competing demands as well as being self-motivated, innovative and flexible
  • Confidence to manage files and clients independently
  • Excellent academic credentials

The successful candidate will work with our team of corporate lawyers on a variety of challenging, sophisticated and diverse matters representing a broad range of both start-ups, entrepreneurial companies, established Canadian companies and Canadian subsidiaries of US-based or multinational corporations. The successful candidate will work with our team of municipal lawyers on a variety of challenging, sophisticated and diverse matters representing a broad range of both public sector and private sector clients, including municipalities, residential, commercial and industrial development interests, construction firms, property owners, investors and private citizens. You will be assisting clients with either obtaining or responding to applications for development approvals, legal opinions and court applications dealing with a wide variety of municipal law issues, and expropriation and taxation matters, among others.
