26th Estates and Trusts Summit – Law Society of Ontario

Partners Clare Burns, Andrea McEwan and Laroux Peoples will attend the Law Society of Ontario's 26th Estates and Trusts Summit, which will be held across two days on October 18th and 19th, 2023.

This two-day summit is not only an opportunity for lawyers to learn about some of the most significant recent developments in estates and trusts law, but a chance to interact in-person with fellow professionals and leading practitioners.

Some key topics this year will include identifying what the major tax issues are for non-resident beneficiaries, examining how compassion fatigue can be reduced in the legal practice, discussing how lawyers can structure their estates planning practice to minimize risk, and more.

Clare will serve as Co-Chair and Andrea McEwan will participate as a panelist on Day One of the summit, which will address the latest information on estates, trusts, and capacity/elder law litigation.

Laroux Peoples will present on Day Two, which will focus on the estate solicitor's practice, including planning, administration, and tax.
