Partners Janet Bobechko and Jeff Scorgie will attend the CANECT Environmental Compliance and Due Diligence Training Event on Tuesday, April 23rd – Thursday, April 25th, 2024. Since 1992, CANECT courses have met the needs of Canada’s environmental managers, practitioners, and supervisors. On April 24th, Janet will serve as Course Chair and Jeff will be a guest speaker during "Ontario’s Excess Soils Regulation and Contaminated Sites 2024", a one-day compliance “clinic” that will provide an essential update to enable consultants, governments, proponents, developers, municipalities, and environmental professionals on successfully navigating practical issues arising from the rules for excess soil, emerging contaminants, contaminated sites, risk assessment and liability.

Janet will also serve as Course Chair on April 25th during "Dealing with Environmental Emergencies and Spills". Environmental emergencies can result in a nightmare scenario for the unwary manager who must now consider risks associated with climate change in addition to dealing with more common spills, leaks and discharges that can prompt unwanted ministry investigations; fines and penalties; and damage community relations.
