Marie-Andrée Vermette Elected a Director of The Advocates’ Society

WeirFoulds is proud to announce that litigation partner Marie-Andrée Vermette has been elected a Director of The Advocates’ Society. The Board of Directors is responsible for managing and supervising the activities and affairs of The Advocates’ Society. Marie-Andrée will also be a member of some of the Society’s Standing Committees.

Marie-Andrée specializes in complex litigation cases, including high-profile corporate/commercial disputes, class actions and public law cases. She has been recognized as a leading practitioner in corporate and commercial litigation in the 2016 edition of Best Lawyers® in Canada. She is also recognized in the 2016 edition of Benchmark Canada, the Guide to Canada’s Leading Litigation Firms and Attorneys.

The Advocates’ Society was established in 1963 to ensure the presence of a courageous and independent bar, and the maintenance of the role of the advocate in the administration of justice. It is a not-for-profit association of judges, lawyers and advocates, and Canada’s premier advocacy skills training provider.

The firm has a proud history of its litigation partners serving as Directors of the Society. We are delighted that Marie-Andrée will be continuing this tradition.

We congratulate her on this prestigious achievement.
