Partner Abbey Sinclair named President of the Ontario Expropriation Association

WeirFoulds is pleased to announce that Partner Abbey Sinclair, a member of the firm’s Municipal, Planning & Land Development and Expropriation Practice Groups, has been named President of the Ontario Expropriation Association (OEA).

The Ontario Expropriation Association is a non‑profit, voluntary association of professionals with an interest in the field of expropriation law and practice. The OEA exists to provide a forum for professionals involved in expropriation to educate one another on relevant issues, network both professionally and socially, and work towards the improvement of the expropriation process in Ontario.

Abbey’s practice focuses on expropriation and municipal law. She provides practical and strategic advice to municipalities and public authorities on various land, expropriation, and infrastructure related issues. She also represents landowners throughout Ontario in a wide range of expropriation and real property litigation matters. Abbey has been a member of the OEA since 2014 and has served on the Board of Directors since 2017.

“Abbey’s appointment as President of the Ontario Expropriation Association is a testament to her dedication and leadership within the expropriation bar,” said Sean Foran, Chair of WeirFoulds’ Expropriation Practice Group. “Her deep expertise and commitment to advancing best practices will serve both the OEA and our profession well. We are proud to see Abbey take on this important role, and look forward to the positive impact she will undoubtedly make.”
