Returning to home base, the WeirFoulds Caribbean Practice Group hosted its marquee Caribbean Fête at the firm’s Toronto office last week, and the event did not disappoint.
Clients, colleagues and friends from across Ontario, and from as far afield as Barbados and Jamaica, gathered for a vibrant evening of Caribbean food, music and culture. Guests were treated to a menu full of Caribbean flavour curated by Lily Pottinger (the co-founder of the Toronto institution, the Real Jerk), with delicious desserts provided by Papa Joe’s Bakery and Catering. The Pan Fantasy Steel Band Players and Move with Zarria Dancers brought the rhythm and transformed the firm’s Toronto office into a vibrant Caribbean-inspired gathering space. The festivities continued throughout the evening with music from DJ International Stephen and DJ Flexx Got Next, who kept guests dancing and celebrating late into the night.
The Best Party on Bay Street more than lived up to its reputation. Coinciding with the start of the 2026 Toronto Caribbean Carnival (formerly Caribana), the WeirFoulds Caribbean Fête captured the energy and excitement sweeping across the city.
Chaired by Kayla Theeuwen, the WeirFoulds Caribbean Practice Group includes Frank Walwyn, Bota McNamara and Stephen Corrington. The Team is well known in Canada and across the Caribbean for its work on complex multi-jurisdictional litigation matters. Together, they serve clients in Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Belize, the British Virgin Islands (BVI), Dominica, Grenada, Jamaica, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia and St Vincent and the Grenadines.
