WeirFoulds is honoured to announce that on June 10, 2021 the Ontario Bar Association’s Municipal Law Section presented their Award of Excellence posthumously to our Partner, colleague and dear friend Barnet Kussner.
Earlier in 2021, the OBA’s Municipal Law Section renamed this award to the OBA Barnet Kussner Award of Excellence in Municipal Law, in the memory of Barney.
Barney joined WeirFoulds as an articling student in 1989. Following his Call to the Ontario Bar in 1991, he quickly became a leading member of our Municipal Law Group and was regarded as one of the top municipal lawyers in Canada. Barney practiced law at WeirFoulds for 32 years and was admired by colleagues and friends across the municipal, legal and land use planning fields. He was repeatedly selected by his peers for recognition as a leader in his field.
Colleagues and friends gathered virtually to honour Barney, the well-respected and deserving recipient.
