WeirFoulds is honoured to announce that Partner Frank Walwyn, LSM has been recognized by the Ontario Bar Association (OBA) as the 2025 recipient of the Award of Excellence in Civil Litigation. Frank will be formally presented with the award at the 2025 Civil Dinner and Award Presentation, hosted by the OBA’s Civil Litigation Section, on January 20, 2026.
The OBA presents one award each year to a member who has demonstrated outstanding written and oral advocacy skills, made contributions to legal education and the community, demonstrates leadership in the Civil Litigation Bar, and contributed to the enhancement of the practice of civil litigation.
Frank has a reputation for litigating some of the most challenging business cases in Canada and across the Caribbean. Called to the Bars of Ontario and ten Caribbean jurisdictions, Frank has acted as counsel in a variety of matters, many of which have led to important precedent-setting judgments.
Frank is repeatedly recognized for his advocacy and the contributions he has made to the legal community and beyond. In 2016, Frank was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and in 2019, he was awarded a Law Society Medal by the Law Society of Ontario. Frank has also been named as one of Canada’s top lawyers in the areas of Corporate and Commercial Litigation by Chambers Global, Best Lawyers in Canada, and the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory, among many others.
