WeirFoulds technology Partner James Kosa appointed Chair of the CBA Sections Subcommittee

Congratulations to James Kosa, Technology and Intellectual Property Law Partner, on being appointed to the role of Chair of the Canadian Bar Association’s Sections Subcommittee for the 2020-2021 term.

The Sections Subcommittee assists with coordination and communications amongst Sections, and between Sections and the Board of Directors, the Finance Committee, the Management Team and other CBA entities; consults with and brings the perspective of Sections to the Leadership Forum; and oversees appointments to Bench and Bar Committees for the Federal Courts and Tax Court. As Chair, James will oversee and lead the activities of the committee and encourage and facilitate participation from other members.

James offers his clients a wealth of knowledge and experience from across the spectrum of technology issues, including the protection and exploitation of computer and software technology, IT and IP licensing, privacy, security breaches and dispute resolution. He acts as technology counsel to both technology companies in a wide variety of high technology fields, as well as consumers of technologies.

James is also the past President of the Canadian Technology Law Association (CAN-TECH Law) and past Chair of the Canadian Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Section.

We wish James and his colleagues in the Sections Subcommittee a successful year!
