WeirFoulds is pleased to welcome Partner Amy Block and Associate Amaki Otuteye to the firm in the following practice areas:

Amy Block – Regulated Professions & Industries

Amy Block is a Partner in the Regulated Professions & Industries Practice Group whose practice is focused on professional self-regulation and civil litigation. Prior to joining WeirFoulds, Amy was Senior Legal Counsel and Appeal & Review Lead for the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. In this role, Amy built considerable experience over the course of 15 years litigating a wide variety of matters including conducting complex hearings involving allegations of sexual abuse, clinical incompetence and incapacity.

Amy has significant experience as appeal counsel, appearing at all levels of the court, including the Divisional Court, the Court of Appeal of Ontario and the Supreme Court of Canada, on matters germane to administrative law and professional regulation, including licensing, investigative and discipline matters.

Amaki Otuteye – Securities

Amaki Otuteye is an Associate in the Securities Practice Group. Before joining WeirFoulds, Amaki worked as Legal Counsel in the Corporate Finance department for the Ontario Securities Commission, where she was responsible for reviewing applications for exemptive relief as well as reviewing preliminary, base shelf, and final prospectuses, and conducting continuous disclosure reviews on public issuers.
