The WeirFoulds Caribbean Practice Group heats up Bay Street!

On Wednesday, February 13, 2019, the WeirFoulds Caribbean Practice Group hosted its 2nd Annual Caribbean Fête. Frank Walwyn, Nadia Chiesa and Kayla Theeuwen of the Caribbean Practice Group welcomed more than 200 Canadian, Caribbean and international lawyers and business advisors to the “best party on Bay Street”.

Guests warmed up on a frigid February night with local delicacies and tropical beverages, while taking in the rhythmical sounds of steelpan and the vibrant Carnival dancers. Attendees embodied the evening’s motto of “Lime first. Business later.” as they mingled with colleagues and friends who travelled from near and far, including Turks & Caicos, Montreal, Jamaica, Cayman Islands, Israel, and Trinidad. A perfect celebration of Caribbean culture during Black History Month, the evening also highlighted WeirFoulds’ long-standing commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Frank, Nadia and Kayla help clients from all parts of the globe resolve their most complex legal issues throughout the International Financial Centres in the Caribbean and beyond. They collaborate with a trusted network of financial and business advisors and correspondent lawyers to deliver high-quality service and effective legal solutions. The Group has a wealth of experience litigating precedent-setting cases and advising on complex corporate and contentious trust matters in the Caribbean.

The WeirFoulds Caribbean Practice Group works with clients in Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Belize, British Virgin Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Jamaica, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, as well as on appeals to the Privy Council.

WeirFoulds and the Caribbean Practice Group thank all guests who “limed” with them at the Fête! We look forward to bringing the spirit of Carnival back to Bay Street in 2020.
