WeirFoulds Partner Frank Walwyn is the 2025 recipient of the Ontario Bar Association (OBA) Award of Excellence in Civil Litigation. Frank was presented with this honour at the Civil Dinner and Award Presentation, hosted by the OBA’s Civil Litigation Section on January 20, 2026.
This Award celebrates qualities that embody the very best in the profession, including advocacy, civility, leadership and a commitment to advancing the practice of law. These attributes have long defined Frank’s career, throughout which he has been a trusted advocate in some of the most complex business disputes in Canada and across the Caribbean.
This is just one of the many prestigious accolades Frank has received over the course of his career that recognize his contributions to the profession. In 2016, he received the OBA’s Award for Distinguished Service, recognizing his exceptional career achievements and the impact he has made on the legal community. Frank’s work was recognized again in 2019 when he received the Law Society Medal from the Law Society of Ontario, one of the highest honours in the legal community, reflecting outstanding service consistent with the Society’s highest ideals.
In acknowledging Frank’s dedication to excellence in all of its forms, this most recent award affirms the breadth and depth of a career that has helped shape the practice of civil litigation in Ontario and beyond.
“For decades, Frank has set a standard for civil litigation that continues to influence our firm and the broader legal community,” said Denise Baker, Chair of WeirFoulds LLP. “This honour reflects the broad extent of his leadership, mentorship, and service to the profession.”
