WeirFoulds Partner Daniel Wong elected to board of directors for the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers (Ontario)

WeirFoulds is pleased to announce that Daniel Wong, Partner and Chair of the Labour and Employment Practice Group, has been elected to the board of directors for the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers (Ontario).

Daniel has been an active member of FACL and the Asian Canadian community at large for many years. Daniel was a board member of the Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care from 2011 to 2020, where he assumed various leadership roles on the board and its various committees including Chair of the Social Enterprise Committee, Vice Chair of the Board and Chair of the Governance Committee.

Daniel advises employers on all aspects of employment and labour relations including employee hiring and terminations, employment standards compliance, unfair practice and human rights complaints and the development and execution of initiatives and policies. He is repeatedly recognized as a leading practitioner in several legal publications.

The Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers began in 2007 when several lawyers in the Asian Canadian community met to discuss forming a coalition of Asian Canadians in law. Support for this idea grew within the Chinese, Korean and Japanese Canadian Lawyers Associations and from these humble beginnings, FACL was born.

FACL is now a diverse coalition of Asian Canadian legal professionals who promote equity, justice, and opportunity for legal professionals as well as the broader community, and encourages advocacy, community involvement, legal scholarship and professional development among its members.

We congratulate Daniel on this appointment!
