WeirFoulds welcomes four new associates to the firm

WeirFoulds is pleased to welcome four associates to the firm in the following practice areas:

Cassidy Kunicyn – Leasing

Cassidy is an associate in our Leasing Practice Group, with a focus on Commercial Real Estate. Prior to joining WeirFoulds full-time, Cassidy worked as an Articling Student and Summer Student at law firms and professional corporations throughout the Greater Toronto Area.

Cassidy received her Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School, where she received the Charles Edward Woodrow Award for academic excellence and participated in the Osgoode Business Law Society, Osgoode Women’s Network, and Osgoode Mentorship Program.

Baldon Mitchell – Private Equity

Baldon Mitchell is an associate in the Private Equity Practice Group at WeirFoulds LLP. Before joining the firm as an Associate, Baldon developed his legal expertise with WeirFoulds as both an Articling Student and a Summer Student. Prior to this, he worked as a First-Year Summer Law Student at the Legal Resources Centre in Durban, South Africa.

Baldon received his Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School, and his Specialized Honours Bachelor of Arts in English Literature, magna cum laude, from York University. During his time in law school, he served as a Student Ambassador, Parkdale Community Legal Services housing Caseworker, and Research Assistant.

Alfred Pepushaj – Commercial Litigation

Alfred Pepushaj is an associate in the Commercial Litigation Practice Group at WeirFoulds LLP. Before joining WeirFoulds LLP as an Associate, Alfred gained extensive experience in a wide range of practice areas as a Summer Student and Articling Student with the firm.

Alfred obtained his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Ottawa where he received the Perley-Robertson, Hill & McDougall LLP Prize for Legal Ethics & Professional Responsibility. During law school, he was an Assistant Editor and Associate Editor of the Ottawa Law Review and the co-president of the law school’s First Generation Network chapter, which aims to provide resources to students who are the first in their family to attend post-secondary school. Alfred also worked for the University of Ottawa’s Legal Writing Academy and volunteered as a caseworker at the University of Ottawa’s Ticket Defence Program where he provided legal support and representation to homeless and street-involved individuals.

Kristen Robertson – Technology & Intellectual Property, Privacy & Access to Information

Kristen Robertson is an Associate in the Technology & Intellectual Property and Privacy & Access to Information Practice Groups at WeirFoulds LLP. Prior to joining WeirFoulds as an Associate, Kristen summered and articled with the firm.

She has advised on complex services engagements, privacy and compliance issues, strategic partnerships and software licensing, as well as corporate governance and risk management matters.

Kristen received her Juris Doctor from Queen’s University Faculty of Law, where she served as a Research Assistant designing an artificial intelligence software for use in trademark disputes.
