WeirFoulds is pleased to welcome Amber Blair, Matt Gaulton, Alessandra Giorgi, Samuel Maitman-Markowski, Alexandra Noppers and Sophie Porter as associates across the firm’s practice groups.

Amber Blair
Amber joins the firm after several years at a leading commercial litigation boutique in Toronto. Her practice spans commercial, intellectual property and construction disputes, and she has represented clients ranging from emerging businesses to multinational corporations, including in Federal Court motions and trials.
Matt Gaulton
Matt returns to WeirFoulds after completing both his summer and articling terms with the firm. A graduate of Western University’s Juris Doctor program, he was involved in the school’s mining, privacy, construction and infrastructure law organizations. He also serves as a Member-at-Large of the Ontario Bar Association’s Insolvency Section Executive.
Alessandra Giorgi
Alessandra returns to the firm following her summer and articling terms. She earned her Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2025 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2026. Throughout her undergraduate and law school studies, she helped establish the University of Guelph-Humber’s moot competition.
Samuel Maitman-Markowski
Samuel joins the associate ranks after completing his summer and articling terms at WeirFoulds. He earned his Doctor of Law from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. Before entering the legal profession, he led youth programs, mentored young people and supported organizational operations within Toronto’s Jewish community.
Alexandra Noppers
Alexandra returns to WeirFoulds following her summer and articling terms. She earned her Doctor of Law from Queen’s University Faculty of Law and participated in the Queen’s Castle Program. Her earlier career teaching middle school mathematics and English literature continues to inform her clear, practical approach to advocacy and client service.
Sophie Porter
Sophie joins the firm as an associate after completing her summer and articling terms with WeirFoulds, where she supported a range of commercial disputes and litigation matters. She earned her Juris Doctor from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University and completed a semester abroad at the National University of Singapore.
